Harry's Helpers was inspired by Harry, the son of James and Charlotte Bacon. Harry is a bright and energetic child who has been diagnosed with autism. From a young age, his curiosity and resilience have shone through, despite the unique challenges he faces.
As first-time parents, James and Charlotte experienced many difficulties in understanding and accessing the necessary support for Harry's development. Navigating the complex EHCP process and finding the right resources was a daunting task. Additionally, they faced significant financial hurdles in securing the essential services and therapies Harry needed. Their journey with Harry highlighted a substantial gap in both guidance and funding support for families with children who have special needs.
Harry’s story became the cornerstone for the creation of Harry's Helpers. The charity was established to provide the crucial support, resources, and financial assistance that James and Charlotte struggled to find. Through Harry's Helpers, they aim to ensure that other families receive the help they need to navigate similar challenges, including access to funding for necessary services, fostering a community where no family has to face these obstacles alone.
Harry and his journey has inspired a mission of compassion and practical assistance, reflecting the values of perseverance and hope that he embodies every day.
